KPD saw the need to install a commercial solar system as an obligation for all businesses to do their part in helping to maintain the health of the environment. They expressed that this was a large part in their decision to install a commercial solar system back in 2018.

After investigating the available solar systems on the market, it was an easy decision for KPD to install a Tigo SmartSolar system from SCE. KPD could see that the many benefits and features of the SmartSolar system far outweighed the initial additional investment.

To help with the installation, the system attracted a $62,755 STC government grant which was given as a point of sale discount by SCE. This together with the additional generation from the Tigo SmartSolar gave the system a 3.5year return on investment.

Given the success of the SmartSolar system and the proven returns achieved, KPD have furthered their solar commitment and installed an additional 200 kW to the Kingsgrove business allowing them to be self-sufficient while the sun is shining. KPD are extremely happy with the results and see installing commercial solar to any business as an absolute must.  

The first 100kW system incorporated 4 x Fronius 25kW ECO inverters with 260watt Trina panels. The second 200kW installation utilises 6 x Fronius 27kW ECO inverters with 445watt high yield phono commercial panels. All 300 kWs have Tigo DC optimization with full rapid shutdown compliance.
