ABout The Project
Steve from Thornleigh Golf Centre wanted to reduce his annual business costs and become a more sustainable business overall. The golf centre has a driving range, café and putt-putt, with several water features driven by large water pumps.
The centre had plenty of roof space for 102 x 340watt TrinaSmart north tilted panels that were combined with a Fronius ECO 27kW inverter giving the centre its base load power during sunlight hours.
SCE also installed Variable speed drives to the 4 x 4kw water feature pumps, allowing them to be slowed slightly and obtaining greater than 50% energy savings. Over a 24-hour period the VSD installation sees savings of 157kWh and over 55,000 kWh annually.
